Plier Kit by Dritz

Note: Test on swatch of fabric. Use two layers of light to medium weight fabric, reinforced with interfacing. Applies Snaps, Decorative Snaps, Jumbo Snaps, and Eyelets. Kit includes 4 Snaps - size 16 - 7/16 Inch and 25 Eyelets -5/32 Inch

Instructions:

DECORATIVE AND OPEN RING SNAPS: 1.Mark position of snaps on topside and underside of garment. 2.Lift plastic platform and turn until yellow plastic holder snaps into place. 3.Stretch rubber rings around plastic and metal holders. 4.SOCKETS(A)- a.Insert snap/decorative prong into rubber ring on plastic holder with points exposed. b.Insert socket into rubber ring on metal holder with raised center exposed. c. Position topside of garment in pliers with snap/dec. prong on the outside of garment. Center over mark. d.Squeeze pliers firmly. Check for tightness, squeeze again if necessary. 5.STUDS (B)- a.Insert prong into rubber ring on metal holder with points exposed. b.Insert stud into rubber ring on plastic holder with ball side down. c.Position underside of garment in pliers with prong on the wrong side of garment. Center over mark. d.Squeeze pliers firmly. Check for tightness, squeeze again if necessary. JUMBO SNAPS-follow above instructions for applying snaps EXCEPTION-Replace rubber ring on plastic holder with yellow adaptor (flat side down) to attach the dec. prong.(C) EYELETS-(D) 1.Mark position of eyelets. 2.Lift plastic platform and turn until metal punch snaps into place. 3.Remove rubber rings. 4.Position fabric in pliers with mark centered over punch. Squeeze pliers to punch hole in fabric. 5.Remove fabric and position eyelet in hole from the right side of fabric. 6.Place eyelet and fabric in pliers with eyelet on punch-saucer side down. 7.Squeeze pliers firmly.
